MY APPROACH

My approach to therapy is about learning
to love yourself.

It is our birthright to live authentically and to be loved, respected, and valued, simply for being who we are.

The emotional dilemmas we faced in childhood will separate us from our true selves. Now, as adults, we have the right to make new, conscious choices about our lives and the people we are close to, and to reclaim our authenticity, security, and access to a full range of feelings. I am here to be a respectful, compassionate, enlightening witness to your unfolding process as you come home to yourself.

This process is about believing in the person you are, waking up to what’s possible, and owning your right to be yourself in the world.

It’s about building a therapeutic relationship between you and me, and then proceeding with gentleness, at the pace that is right for you, making sense of your life story and addressing core issues for the purpose of creating lasting change and a new level of freedom and ease in living.

It’s about increasing your awareness of your feelings, thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, and patterns.

It’s about getting to know the parts of yourself, exploring and understanding their reasons for being and discovering new ways of being that meet your needs.

It’s about coming into maturity by nurturing yourself into wholeness so you can be the person you have the potential to be.

It’s about discovering and recovering
your true Self.

CO-CREATING RELATIONSHIP

The genuine relationship between client and therapist is the foundation of the healing process.

We human beings need emotional connection with other human beings; it is essential to our survival and well-being. Our culture values many things (money, fame, material possessions, youth, power over others) above respectful, authentic connections between people. These external things can never take the place of being seen, known and loved by those we are close to.

The genuine relationship between client and therapist is the foundation of the healing process. It is within the context of a respectful, attuned relationship that healing can occur.

I invite you to meet with me, to experience our interaction, and see if it feels like the right fit for you.

PARTS WORK

Our parts of Self exist for a reason and carry vital information for us.

Our parts are always trying to express some fundamental need, to communicate with us, or to protect us in some way. When they haven’t been given the respect and attention they deserve, they will act out or act in, sabotaging our lives and our dreams. By listening to these overlooked parts, we begin to understand what they are striving to say to us and do for us. We can identify a critical, censoring or sabotaging part and then bring love directly to these parts that have held us back all our lives. This shift in perspective allows us to feel deep affection for our parts, understand their intentions, and welcome them back into our identity.

What parts of you need to be listened to and expressed? Where could such expression take you? I’m excited about being with you as you discover the lost parts of yourself and meet them with love…

MINDFULNESS

Being aware of our inner experience is the first step
in any change process.

When we make the decision to truly notice our experience, it becomes more vivid and alive to us. As we pay attention, layers of our experience reveal themselves to us over time.

Mindfulness is bringing our awareness to the present moment without judgment. We can choose to replace judgment with a spirit of compassion and curiosity. The more we attend to our experience with compassion for ourselves and curiosity about the discoveries we make, the more we will be providing the safety we need to make the changes of our choosing.

MAKING SENSE OF YOUR LIFE STORY

Making sense of our life story is the way our mind can know who we are and understand our inner world.

We will take an in-depth history to begin the process of bringing insight to your life story. People look to make meaning of their lives. Questioning what you know about your life story can help you to see yourself from a new perspective; it can help you to start taking responsibility for your life choices, and have freedom and ease in living as you bring compassion and truth to your world.
